I am always willing to help vith the site modrate talk or indtruct people best i can.

Madmin! , I was always taught when you get overwhelmed to delegate to responsible persons.  I nominate magmax to be a moderator on the site.

@madmin! , this too will pass.  try to relax!  I was told once, you can not know the good times without first passing through rough times.  we have all been there, bless you brother, taking care of your sister like this really shows what kind of person you really are.  Please keep drink under control, i have seen too many friends go to far and not come back!

at least until they get a forum set up on their site we should just refer to it generically, not mentioning it by name or even mentioning it at all

To keep this site 100% safe. Only trying to do what is best for P and this site.

Have you got a Firestick ? If you download Kodi and then load Redbox you can get most of the free UK channels free !

at least until they figure that out and block it too

I am sure they are digitally tuned into Paul’s life right now,

I was the same with filmon before here until the free went away,  pretty sure they are paying a percentage to stay alive,  it is the mafia concept, you pay the thieves a monthly protection fee and they won’t rob you

1 – maybe they are watching tv on the new site

    or

2 – they are forming ridiculous questions to publish in the forum

hopefully Paul will give us an update on how he and his sister are doing

So yes Rob’s site is gone but just the name, Paul managed to save it, I hade many pages booked marked from 2012 and 2013 as I installed a 6 meter dish on a big pole so I could watch British TV,  But the reason the site got closed was because there were a links to BBC1 and of course if you went to the TV guide on Robs site it directly linked to the channels on BTVC so yes there were obvious ties.

check this out for memory lane, on the top right hand corner of this page, click on the spy glass and when the box opens type in the word Satellite and hit enter….

some tablets have a mini hdmi cable for which you can buy an adaptor

    in reply to: Catchup #191224

you may need to use a VPN and then connect to the official catchup sites for the respective channels.  I did a little investigating also trying to find catchup and what I found is probably why it won’t be happening, but we could always hope for a miracle.

    in reply to: chromecast #191197

I does appear the site is still setting things up, but if you have a computer or laptop on the same network and you are using chrome browser, with the video playing, put the mouse in the white background area of the webpage and right click and choose cast.  This will actually cast the whole page, then put the video to full screen, you will still see the border of the web browser on your TV but it is better then watching on the small screen,  This may or may not work depending on your version of windows, but if it does, then you will have a workaround until the site gets things configured

so Smart TVs generally do not update their browsers and using a different one on a smart TV is not always an option either.  If the TV is a few years old, the browser is probably out of date ( in general TVs were built for watching TV and not browsing to a TV sit to watch) .  Paul used an older system and older players on BTVC, so old they were to the point of being discontinued, he did actually try a new player, but too many of the members were still using older equipment.  The new site is using a much newer player, up to date versions so it only makes sense to me that some people will have issues, I get that….  Retired, limited income, and trying to keep older tech so as not to spend, especially in todays economy.  there are often several ways to do things, maybe a cable is needed to connect the TV to your tablet or laptop, but I suggest that we wait until the new site is set up completely, at which time more options may present themselves.  When I was younger, I remember having to have lots of patience with my grandparents as new Technology presented it self and I had to teach them.  Unfortunately with so many new options, everyone watches TV in a different way now a days!

in reply to: New tv #191114

yes, the new site will most likely not have catchup, and true the new owner is not here in this forum, if you click on feedback on the new site you will see the 4 points, also the message on BTVC is very clear, tomorrow is the last day!  Radio Times is a full TV guide, but you can choose Freeview channels and it will thin out a bit, just remember its a full list and includes channels you do not get on the site, but I am sure there will be one shortly, remember James got thrown into the deep end so lets have patients

yes it is blank, but on the top right you will either see a “log in” or you will see three black dots, click on the dots and you will see a log in prompt to click on then use your same login info.  then a blank video will appear in middle of the screen and above it is a drop down menu to select your options
